Barak has denied wrongdoing and has not been charged with any offence. He has acknowledged visiting Epstein’s properties and said he was unaware of the offending.
A distinction this page holds throughout: documenting that Epstein was in sustained contact with former Israeli defence and intelligence figures is not a claim that he worked for an intelligence service. The first is established by the documents; the second is not, and the page never treats the absence of the second as negating the first.
Section 01
2009–2013: The Access Years
Barak’s value appears first as a name that opens doors.
In April 2009 the mayor of Netanya seeks a meeting with Epstein and "knows of you through Ehud Barak."
By August, Epstein is drafting a guest list and places Barak in category three: "george mitchell, ehud barak, tony blair, larry summers, bloomberg." Category one includes "nathan wolfe" and "rep of NSA." Category four: "jes staley, jamie dimon."
Through 2010 the logistics are routine and constant — coordination through Barak’s aide Nili Priell, and Groff’s one-line subject: "CALL BARAK!!!"

Section 02
December 2014: Reporty
Eighteen months after leaving office, Barak brought Epstein a company.
On 18 December 2014: "Good conversation yesterday. To be continued on Monday after the CEO and his team will prepare more material. Darren & Nicole could also share impressions with you. My accountant in Israel insists that from IL tax code perspective it’s important we will establish our partnership as…" — Darren Indyke was Epstein’s attorney; Nicole Junkermann an investor.
Minutes later: "Thanks for your advice and support. What is your impression?"
Five days on: "Can we have a Skype telco this evening with Pinhas Buchris of Reporty? I propose around 330pm LSJ time." Buchris had commanded Unit 8200 and served as director-general of Israel’s Defence Ministry. "LSJ" is Little St. James.
What Reporty — later Carbyne — actually is: emergency-call technology. It routes video, location and device data from a 911 caller to dispatchers. Not a surveillance platform, and unconnected to September 11th. The distinction matters because both claims circulate.
Section 03
2015–2019: Partner, Not Contact
By 2015 Epstein was inside the company’s governance. Barak sent him the monthly board report and built an Israel itinerary around him: "I prefer that you’ll come on Sept 8… we plan two visits. 1) 1030am, visit ‘TheTime’, a hitech/start ups incubator."
In October 2018 he requested warrant documentation. In January 2019 the founder’s Qatar presentation circulated to Barak.
And in February 2019 the terms appear in plain text: "Carbyne invested 1.5 m (1m you and 0.5m me) net of fees is 3.9m your share, Ehud carry 1.5 m and my share 2m…"
Carbyne was not the only one. In February 2018 Barak sent Epstein a "Toka investor pitch"; Epstein replied asking about the "biz model." In May, Barak wrote: "I've asked Terje (probably better Mona) to help me in finding the right address for Toka discussion in Norway. He asked you'll forward to Mona the presentation when he meets you tomorrow."
"Terje" is Terje Rød-Larsen — the same IPI president running the Gates-funded peace-and-health work. Barak was using the head of a UN-affiliated institute to open doors in Norway for an Israeli cyber company, and routing the presentation through Epstein. Toka appears in 10 provenance-safe documents.
And a third company sits outside this corpus entirely, for a documented reason. Paragon Solutions was founded in 2019 — the year Epstein died — by Barak with Ehud Schneorson, a former commander of Unit 8200, and others. It does not appear in the released files because it postdates the correspondence, not because it is unsupported. Verified outside the corpus
Paragon sells Graphite, zero-click mercenary spyware that extracts data from encrypted messaging apps without user action. Citizen Lab has documented deployments across more than a dozen countries and confirmed journalists among the targets. In December 2024 the firm was acquired by US private-equity group AE Industrial Partners; Barak is reported to have received $10–15 million. US contracts have included ICE and DHS.
This is the pattern the corpus shows the first half of. Carbyne (2014, emergency response), Toka (2018, cyber), and then Paragon (2019, offensive spyware) — each founded with Unit 8200 veterans, each a step closer to state surveillance. Epstein was financially inside the first and circulating the pitch for the second. He did not live to see the third.
Also established: Epstein had documented personal, financial and business relationships that repeatedly placed him in contact with senior former Israeli defence and intelligence personnel, and with technology ventures founded or led by Unit 8200 veterans. He circulated material about Unit 8200; a call with a former 8200 commander was scheduled at his island; he was financially inside one such venture and circulating the pitch for another.
Not established: that Epstein worked for, reported to, was directed by, or conducted operations on behalf of Mossad, Unit 8200, or any other Israeli intelligence service. No document reviewed here shows him acting as an operative, asset, agent, source or intermediary for any such body. Unresolved
These are different claims and the page keeps them apart. A documented connection to people and companies rooted in Israel’s defence and intelligence ecosystem is not the same as a proven agency relationship — and the absence of the second does not negate the first.
And not established: that Barak knew of the offending. He has denied it and has not been charged.
