The number is what makes this page different from most in the archive.

Many people here appear once — a dinner, a photograph, a forwarded email — and the honest finding is that it was one evening. Twenty-eight scheduled meetings over five years is a different category of fact, and it does not depend on anyone’s testimony or interpretation. It is in Epstein’s own calendar.

The correspondence shows what the register of it was. In June 2011 Pritzker wrote from Afghanistan — “my birthday wish” — mentioning he had spent time with Petraeus, who had loaned him a helicopter. In September 2012 Epstein wrote back about Frank Gehry: “he loves you, showed me pictures of your plane.” These are chatty, personal, unguarded. They are not the correspondence of acquaintances.

The allegation against him is grave and this page states it plainly. In a 2016 deposition Giuffre named him among men she said she was trafficked to. Asked directly, she said: “I believe I was with Tom once.”

He has denied it vehemently and consistently since it first surfaced in 2019, through three separate document releases. No charge was ever brought. No criminal proceeding followed. Giuffre died in 2025, and it will now never be tested. This archive records it as an untested allegation, denied — and records the denial at the same volume.

What happened in February 2026 is the part worth sitting with.

Hyatt announced he would retire as executive chairman and not stand for re-election to the board. And, per the Associated Press, he said he deeply regretted the association and called the contact “terrible judgment.”

Almost nobody in this archive has said that. Most have minimised, litigated, or gone silent. He denied the allegation — which he is entitled to do — while conceding the association itself was indefensible, and then left the position. Only Hoffman and Mandelson have gone as far.

This archive documents an almost total absence of consequence. Pritzker is now the third exception, and the three of them share a shape.

Mandelson lost an ambassadorship after 213 days — not for the friendship, which was known, but when a document surfaced showing he had argued the conviction was wrongful. Staley was banned for life from UK finance — not for the island or the jet, but for two false sentences in a letter to a regulator.

Pritzker fits and also breaks the pattern. Like them, what moved was documents rather than testimony — the calendars and emails, not the allegation, which had been public since 2019 and changed nothing.

Unlike them, no institution forced it and no regulator acted. A company board and a man decided. That makes it the softest of the three consequences and, arguably, the most voluntary.

And it is the only one accompanied by an admission of any kind. Mandelson said he felt awful about the association. Staley contested his case for four years and lost. Pritzker denied the allegation, conceded the association was terrible judgment, and stepped down anyway.

Which points at the same finding from a third direction. Nobody was penalised. No rule was applied. No process ran. In all three cases the mechanism was publication — a document became public, and the position became untenable.

That is not accountability. It is embarrassment operating where accountability should be — and it only works on people who hold something that can be taken away, at a moment when someone happens to be reading.
